Educational guide · Always follow carrier and breaker manufacturer instructions

Fitment guide

Five checks before the first strike.

A field guide to the information behind a sensible hydraulic breaker match.

This guide helps you ask better questions. It does not replace manufacturer engineering data or qualified installation.

01. Carrier and attachment weight

Use the carrier’s published attachment limits and actual operating configuration. Include the bracket, coupler, hoses and working tool in attachment weight. Think about reach, slope, undercarriage and stability, not only lifting capacity beside the tracks.

02. Auxiliary oil flow

Compare the carrier’s available auxiliary flow with the breaker’s specified operating range. Flow outside the range can reduce performance, create excess heat or damage components. Confirm whether the machine has adjustable flow and how it is set.

03. Working pressure and return

Verify relief pressure, working pressure, return routing and allowable back pressure. Some setups require a direct-to-tank return or case drain. Hose and fitting sizes must support the required flow.

04. Coupler, pins and bracket

Identify the quick coupler model or provide pin diameter, pin spacing and inside ear width. A compatible bracket still needs safe locking, clearance and hose routing through the full range of movement.

05. Tool for the material

Tool styleCommon use
Moil pointGeneral breaking and hard material
ChiselConcrete, trenching and directional splitting
BluntBoulder breaking and secondary reduction
Asphalt cutterRoad surface cutting where approved

Tool names and approved applications vary by manufacturer. Use only approved tool diameters and retaining parts.
